Description

It is in times of crisis that good leaders emerge

We have many stories around the globe on how organizations have dealt with crises.

Way back in 1982, when cyanide-laced Tylenol killed seven people in the Chicago area, Johnson & Johnson’s swift and effective response minimized the damage and the brand recovered and flourished.

More recently in 2018, Facebook came under fire with the news that a firm bought data of 80+ million users without the consent of Facebook. This sparked a big scandal over user privacy at Facebook. The social giant eventually managed to rise out of the crisis but in the process, the user trust was impacted.

In all these stories, we discover how an organization as a whole addresses the crisis. Popular roles we get to hear in a tale of crisis are public relations, corporate communication, marketing, legal, PMO, risk & recovery, and the like.

This time around, let’s ask our Human Resource (HR) wizards how in times of uncertainty, HR plays a critical role in ensuring a company’s success.
